Each year, in the run-up to our event, the RAF Harrowbeer Interest Group invites the Yelverton shops to go ‘All 1940s’ in support of the 1940s Weekend. A mystery shopper visits the shops on the days before the event and the best window/shop display wins the coveted Trophy (pictured).

But who will win it in 2025?

The shops have all been invited to enter and judging starts on Tuesday 13th using mystery shoppers. The winner will be told in person by Friday 15th and they can display the trophy for the following 12 months.

Visitors coming by bus to the event will be able to catch a vintage double-decker bus from Yelverton to the site and back on the two-days of the 1940s Weekend, and will have a chance to visit the shops to see the displays.

The 1940s weekend itself runs from 10am to 5pm with the kind permission of Maristow Estate and has to be free to attend. Because of this we rely on donations and are always looking for financial support/sponsorship. We have spaces for advertising on the site so if you think you might be able to help, please contact us.
